Hi, I’m Julia and I am the one rambling on Imagelicious about all things food. I’ve started this blog back in 2008, but I did not keep it up. Now Imagelicious is up and running and I am cooking up a storm and sharing it here.
I live in Toronto, Ontario with my husband and a lovely daughter who is now in the midst of terrible twos and life is a lot of fun.
After having my daughter, my cooking style changed significantly due to the lack of time. I created a series of “mom recipes” which require very little time to cook or prepare. Or can be left in the middle if baby needs attention.
My love affair with food started about 10 years ago when I got mesmerized with the magic of baking. I got so interested in it that I went to George Brown College for over a year to complete a series of courses and receive Bakery Arts Certificate. So, there are a lot of baking recipes on the blog.
I cook simple and quick food most of the time. I try to eat healthy, but I don’t follow any of the popular diets that are so in right now. I love roasting food in the oven instead of pan-frying to reduce fat in recipes. In fact, I even published a cookbook which came out in August 2018 that is all about cooking in the oven. Read about The Ultimate One-Pan Oven Cookbook and order it!!
I use very little salt in my seasoning as I find that there’s enough natural salt in most foods. I can’t eat many vegetables unfortunately due to some weird health issues, so although I love cooking vegetarian, there are not many vegetable dishes.
I am also obsessed with my Instant Pot so there are a lot of pressure cooker recipes. You can see all of my Instant Pot recipes here.
Random things about me: I am Russian, but I’ve lived in Canada longer than I’ve lived in Russia. I haven’t been back there since 2000. I used to volunteer for the Forgotten Ones Cat Rescue before I had the baby and I hope to do that again once she is older. I love animals and I hope to instil that love and respect into her. I love reading and watching TV shows. And, of course, I love food!
If you’d like to work with Imagelicious, please email at julia@imagelicious.com. I love developing recipes, trying out new products and sharing them with my readers.
