This Peppermint Marshmallow Latte is the ultimate winter coffee drink. Smooth, sweet, creamy, delicious! Perfect way to celebrate cold days and the holidays.

Every morning, I start with a cup of Nespresso coffee. I love the consistency in this routine. I love the mechanical process of filling up my Nespresso machine with water, waiting for the light to stop blinking, adding a capsule of coffee, and listening to the buzzing sound of the coffee maker.
It wakes up all my senses. The smell, the warmth, the taste of the coffee. One sip, one pause, one long and calm breath before the craziness of the day starts.
Coffee that I drink in the morning is always the same: plain with milk. No sugar. No fancy syrups or foams or toppings. Afternoons, however, are when I indulge myself.
Back when I was working in the office, 3 o’clock was the time to go to a coffee shop for a fancy drink. Now that I work from home, 3 o’clock is the time right before my daughter wakes up from her nap. It’s a few minutes when I can sit in the silence and enjoy a treat, just for me.
I don’t have too many opportunities to go to a coffee shop anymore, so I make coffee shop-style drinks at home — such as this Peppermint Marshmallow Latte. Thankfully, that is super easy with the help of my favorite Nespresso machine.
I’ve mentioned many times before how I love Nespresso. It’s been on my two (here and here) Foodie Gift Guides lists, even. I have three different Nespresso machines, and I am running out of capsules right now— only about 240 left in my cupboard.
This Peppermint Marshmallow Latte is a cozy and delicious drink that is perfect during the winter. It’s sweet, smooth, and creamy with a distinct peppermint refreshing aftertaste. Experience the ultimate hygge winter moment with a mug of Nespresso Peppermint Latte.

Ingredients and variations for Peppermint Marshmallow Latte
Although this is a very straightforward recipe, it can definitely be changed up a bit to suit your taste.
- Peppermint extract
- I used only 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract in the Peppermint Creamer because I didn’t want it to overpower the coffee, especially since there’s also peppermint whipped cream and crushed candy canes in the latte.
- Feel free to use more extract for stronger peppermint flavour.
- For slight variations of the flavour, try using mint extract or even spearmint extract.
- You could also use peppermint (or mint or spearmint) oil instead of extract. Just remember, oil is much stronger than extract – so use about quarter of what the recipe calls for.
- Half-and-half cream
- For a slightly lighter treat, substitute with whole milk.
- For a richer drink, feel free to use 18% cream.
- Marshmallows
- I like using mini marshmallows because they are much easier to measure out and weigh, but feel free to use regular size marshmallows.
- I prefer my coffee on a less sweet side. If you like sweeter coffee, then add more marshmallows.
- If you don’t have marshmallows, feel free to use sugar or maple syrup to taste instead of marshmallows in the Peppermint Creamer.
- Peppermint whipped cream
- Whip 1/4 cup very cold heavy whipping cream with 1 tablespoon icing sugar and 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract until medium peaks form.
- Feel free to add more icing sugar and a bit more peppermint extract to taste.
For a classic Peppermint Mocha flavour, mix in a tablespoon of cocoa powder into the hot half-and-half and let dissolve before adding the marshmallows.
For adults only: add a splash of Creme de Menthe and whisky to the coffee.
