As I mentioned dozens of times before, the biggest advantage of using Instant Pot for me is not about saving time. Many of the recipes aren’t much faster in an electric pressure cooker.
The biggest advantage is the convenience! You don’t need to watch the stove and pots and pans so that they don’t over-boil. You can add your ingredients to Instant Pot and then just listen for the beep. Convenient!

Instant Pot Poached Eggs Two Ways
I love poached eggs and I love the convenience of making them in Instant Pot. Timing for poached eggs really depends on the type of form you use and your Instant Pot model. Some silicone forms are thinner so they take less time to cook. Some Instant Pot models are more powerful so the timing will also vary. I suggest using my timing as a guide, trying one egg and then adapting to your particular altitude, Instant Pot model, and cooking form.

Instant Pot and Accessories
You’ll notice that 3 out of 5 Ways to Cook Eggs in Instant Pot include egg bites moulds. I use them often for making eggs and desserts. So, here’s the accessories that you’ll need for all those ways to cook eggs:
- Instant Pot. I use 6-qt Duo model and all the Pot-in-Pot recipes are tested using it.
- Note: I recently got a second Instant Pot which is a different model and although regular recipes work fine in it, all my Pot-in-Pot recipes do not work in that model. The timing seems to be very off as the newer model requires much longer cooking time for Pot-in-Pot cooking method.
- Silicone Egg Bites moulds. I use Flytaker brand but it is only available on Canadian amazon. This Aozita brand on American amazon has a lot of positive reviews and looks very similar to what I have.
- Note: There are different sizes of moulds, some are smaller than others. You need to look at the description of the models that you buy to make sure that they are the correct size. If they are smaller than a whole large egg will not fit into it. You want the ones where each individual mould holds at least 60 ml.
- Glass bowls for egg loaf. I love using my Lock & Lock containers for egg loaf as they are oven-proof.
- Note: Officially Instant Pot warns against using glass and ceramic dishes in Instant Pot. I have never had any issues using oven-proof dishes in Instant Pot. However, use at your own risk as it is not officially sanctioned.
- Trivet. You will need to use a trivet to keep the eggs, moulds, and bowls off the bottom of Instant Pot. Usually it comes with a trivet but if you misplaced yours, then you can buy one here.
And here you can find my list for 9 Ultimate Instant Pot Accessories You Need to Buy.
