Add all the ingredients to a small pot. No need to defrost the berries but not problem if the berries are defrosted, just use all the juices also.
Bring the pot to boil, reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes, mashing the berries with the back of a spoon, until the sauce thickens to the desired consistency.NOTE: if you are using more orange juice than stated in the recipe, then it'll take longer for the sauce to thicken.
Remove and discard the cinnamon stick.
Serve hot or cold.
Feel free to use more or less sweetener.If you'd like to make Maple-Berry Sauce then use 1 cup of maple syrup and follow the same instructions.
